Deer Park City Council Meeting

The Deer Park City Council will meet November 4 at 7 pm to consider the revised proposal for the pilot project kiosk to be accepted by the city. The Kiosk Committee will attend to support the proposal.

Kiosk Committee Meeting

The next Horizons III Deer Park Community Project Kiosk committee meeting will be held November 3 at 3:30 pm at the Deer Park Senior Center. You are welcome to attend.

DEER PARK CITY COUNCIL MEETING

October 21 2009 City of Deer Park Council meeting with presentation by Seth Nelson, Explorer Scout Candidate, Troop 28, talking about the WSU Horizons Kiosk Pilot Project to the City.
Seth is the project manager for the pilot project kiosk and is responsible for
the plan with the help of Kiosk Project Committee members and City Council members input and recommendations/codes, etc.
No final authorization for the project has been given yet.
The KIOSK committee will meet Tuesday at 3:30 with the city delegation of two council representatives and hopefully the community development director, and the streets and property supervisor.

Horizons Meeting


Christine Clark talks about the Deer Park Kiosk Committee's plan for presentation to the City of Deer Park on October 21st. Other discussion topics were, the interim board members for the Deer Park Horizons group,Community Service Brochure Committee update, board training and future dates of Horizons events, (which will be posted later).

KIOSK UPDATE

The Kiosk Committee of the Horizons III Deer Park Area Community Project will meet Tuesday, October 20, at 3:30 pm at the Deer Park Senior Center to finalize the presentation of the request for approval by the City of Deer Park Council of the pilot project kiosk which is managed by an Eagle Scout candidate,with support of the committee volunteers, community volunteers and local merchants.
At the Council meeting of the City of Deer Park, October 21 at 7 pm,
the kiosk committee will request approval of the pilot kiosk project which includes contribution of land, materials, services by the City, contribution of volunteer expertise and time by the kiosk committee, contribution of materials and services by local organizations, businesses and residents, Funding has been requested from the Northwest Area Foundation with grant sponsorship by the Horizons Project of WSU-Extension. Future proposed community information kiosks include two indoor kiosks and at least four other outdoor kiosks.

Deer Park Horizons Meeting Minutes

Deer Park Horizons III Board Meeting Minutes 9/29/09

Those in attendance: Krisann, Christine, Tom, Bob, Seth, Jarred, Dusty, Stephanie, and Cordelia.
Krisann reported that there is a nonprofit training Oct. 21st at the Valley Grange with the time to be announced at a later time. Krisann also reported that on Oct. 22nd there is a meeting during the day for all Horizon II and Horizon III communities, with more information to come.
Krisann reported that there is a grant writing workshop for Block Grants on Oct. 13th. Horizons is willing to reimburse gas and pay for the Hotel Room the night before.
Chris explained where the kiosk committee is on their project. Chris showed plans for the pilot project. Cordelia asked about the location. Chris then reported that the pilot project will most likely go up on City Hall grounds.
Chris reported that the informational brochure is done, but no one is here from that committee. Chris reported that she would like those brochures for the kiosk. Chris also reported that the kiosk committee decided not to go with metal, but to use logs, wood, and concrete. Chris went over the dimensions of the kiosk, and the walkway will need to be handicap accessible. Chris is asking for $660 for the pilot project.
Krisann will send application for funds to Christine. Krisann reminded Chris to include all “in-kind” hours, contributions and materials.
Tom reported that he had a meeting with the City of Deer Park and will need to ask to be added to the City (Planning or Council) agenda with details on assembly for Oct. 21st Meeting.
