Pizza from West Side Pizza was served and several ideas on how to make Deer Park a better community were talked about. Most of the participants have been involved with the study circles and contributed to the large lists which included social services, family resources, business resources and many other community resources to help improve poverty in the area. Voted on from the study circle lists and other suggestions of the group were action projects that could be done feasibly in a short length of time.
#1. Start and maintain a Deer Park Youth Help training program. Example- Babysitting Class.
#2. Gather records of community resources and activities.
#3. Get a community Bulletin Board to post the Deer Park Activities and Resource List.
The Horizons Deer Park Blog was talked about by Sidney Coyle and Dusty Finafrock and cards were given out to encourage the people to visit and participate on the blogspot.

I suggest the listing of churches and eateries be accessed by a "button" like the Chamber of Commerse website...the "daily" updates should be the MAIN view of the blog...just a suggestion. Also, how to adverstise this blog site? The general community needs to be made aware of what is happening with the Horizon efforts within Deer Park...
Thank you for your patience anonymous and blogsite visitors, we are working on our Horizons Deer Park blog site and it is currently(under construction). We plan to use the tecniques for the blogsite that we learned in the PR training so you will be seeing some changes. Also, the community bulletin board is one of the action plans suggested for community awareness of the Horizons program by the action forum attendees. So keep visiting for progress and updates as available.
